Just in case you missed it:
The Journey Home — A quick and dirty stop motion I did for an arts evening at the base a couple of months ago.
A video of our first week in Mafikeng — I’ve been on outreach for almost a month now, and thought it was high time you guys could see some of it.

I know I keep pimping my flickr profile, and I will continue to do so, this time with a post of all the pictures you’ve missed if you haven’t been keeping up with my Flickr profile. I’ll do this from time to time, but if you don’t want to miss the fun and games, I’d suggest keeping your eye on that. I’m trying to post a picture every day, and while I’m not quite there yet, I’m getting close.
I’m also working on getting a video done. It’s a matter of finding time and space and still staying sane. For me, I work to a pretty (some might say ridiculously) high standard, considering what these videos are, but it’s fun, even though it sometimes takes a while.
Also, I’m setting up update emails for people who are interested. Drop me a line with your details if you want to be added to that email list.

I think it’s about time I did another update post. As the title suggests, there’s some good stuff to post about and some not so good. Which do you want first? Really? TOO BAD! I don’t care! I’ll do what I want. If you want the bad news first (although that would be reversing the chronological order) then skip straight over the next paragraph and onto the one after it, then go back and read the good news.
The good news is I found a job. Of course the question must be asked whether I found the job, or the job found me. I think it’s a mixture of both, and the guy I’ll be working for is a tops bloke. The first thing we’re doing on Monday is heading out to IKEA and buying me a desk, which will be fun. The company, if anyone is interested, is Streetline Media, which is currently a one man web design company (but no more! :-D) and I’m going to be the web developer, doing everything from simple web pages, to e-commerce stuff. Good fun for all.
The bad news? I think I’ve broken the power plug on my powerbook. It’s been deteriorating over time, but I think something pushed it over the edge over the last few days as it has completely refused to engage and charge, so it looks like I’ll be laptopless for a time, until I pay off the camera and acquire enough funds to buy a new machine (and I don’t know if that will be a laptop or not, I’m really enjoying using the 17” Intel iMac that Dad got to replace the eMac which has mostly died). So yeah… Not so good.
Anywho, that’s pretty much me for now. Stay tuned, and I might have another rant for you soon, or even some photos. Who knows!
Oh yeah, and if anyone’s interested in coming to the Infadels gig at the Gaelic (18+, sorry guys) on the 18th, I have another ticket :)

Probably worth mentioning it that we made it home to Sydney safely, and I’m back at home. I still don’t feel like I can make a full report as yet, but I really do plan to. I SWEAR I WILL!
This is possibly partially because my head hasn’t reached home yet. I’m almost running on autopilot at the moment. I am doing all the things I used to do, I still flick the fridge door the same way with my foot to close it, I still remember all the numbers for all the channels (I have cable, I didn’t think I’d forget good old 2, 7, 9, 10) but I don’t feel like I can really connect with Sydney yet mentally.
I suppose it’s the classic thing. After seeing such poverty and feeling like I’m doing something worthwhile in South Africa, I have to come back and do stuff to prepare for school and stuff. After being faced with people 24/7, it’s weird to go back to my relative solitude again.
I don’t know…

Greetings from Worcester, South Africa! We arrived safely after some 30+ hours of travel and I actually managed to survive for 46 hours with only 2 hours of sleep! Go go sleep deprivation! I haven’t had a chance to dump all my photos, but I’ll get around to it eventually. I promise.
Perhaps later today I’ll update with a few photos :)
This is just a short update, mainly because I’m lazy, but also because I’m suffering a bit from jetlag, it’s almost sleep time in Sydney, while being 2:30pm local time. Wheee!
